Maine Asks Residents to File DRAM Suit Claims

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine officials say the deadline for state residents and businesses to file a claim in a $310 million price-fixing settlement involving computer chips is Aug. 1.

The settlement involves 12 manufacturers of dynamic random access memory, or DRAM. The manufacturers were sued by Maine and other states in a lawsuit that says they conspired to artificially raise the price of the electronic memory chip from 1998 to 2002. Residents and businesses can file a claim if their purchases occurred between those years.

State officials say purchasers of large amounts of DRAM could receive payments in the thousands. Claims can be filed online via
